Child Care Centers
This type of child care takes place within a nonresidential
setting. Child care centers must be licensed and follow health
and safety regulations. Centers might be privately owned and
operated for profit by either a chain or an individual or by
non-profit agencies such as churches, public schools or community
agencies. Child care centers serve larger groups of children
and are often separated by age and include more structured
activities. Child care centers include day care centers, part day
preschools, and before/after school programs.
Professional positions in child care setting might include teaching
aides or assistants, lead teachers and directors.
